Horn of Africa Drylands Summer School Updates

The call for applications for the February 2025 Summer School on "Building Resilience from Below in the Face of Chronic Uncertainty in the Drylands" has now closed.

We are thrilled to announce that we received over 200 applications from Master's and PhD students across Kenya and the Horn of Africa. Succesful Candidates will be notified before the end of 2024.

This Summer School, hosted in Isiolo, Kenya, is designed to delve into the complex social, political, economic, and ecological dynamics of drylands. Through this initiative, the Center for Research and Development in the Drylands (CRDD) aims to prepare the next generation of scholars and practitioners to address challenges and champion resilience from the ground up. This project will be undertaken in partnership with the Feinstein International Center at Tufts University and the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) and Jameel Observatory.

While applications are now closed, full background information on the Summer School remains available for those interested in learning more about this unique initiative.

Stay tuned for updates and highlights as we approach the event dates, 24th–28th February 2025!
